Feelin' Like Home

Scribbled by Darrell Barnes

I start this post off by saying, "Yuck the Fankees." HAHA!!! After the Rangers' game tonight, which gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead in the series, Mark McLemore was doing the post game wrap up and a fan in the background had a poster board with that phrase written on it.

So I was talking to Nels tonight, as we watched the game, and told him that it's starting to feel like I'm at home now. I put up some posters and pictures in my room and the walls don't feel so bare anymore. Rob came over to help Ben put his furniture together, but came into my room first to chat. We discussed how exciting it was to finally be roommates. I think deep down inside it's something that we've been wanting for a while now. He challenges me and edits my life. I like to use the word edit as opposed to saying that he keeps me accountable, because who likes accountants? Not this guy. By the way, mad props to Len Sweet for his chapter on Editiability in "11: Indispensable Relationships You Can't Be Without." We both agreed that when we call each other out on stuff it's all in love and there aren't any other motives behind it. It's going to be great spending time with the guys in my house.

Side note: this past Sunday was a little strange at the Village Denton. I showed up at 8:20 and the power was off. All the lights were off, and the band wasn't able to practice. However, everyone that was there was probably thinking the same thing that I was, "This is going to be sweet." I immediately thought that the band would have to do an awesome acoustic worship time, and Beau would have to just have a chat with the church family...or maybe pull a sermon out to speak on. Either way, I was looking forward to a powerless, yet powerful service. Unfortunately the power came back on and we resumed things as normal, but I still remember thinking that our Villageites are amazing. They would have been up for the acoustic, raw service that would have surely taken place had the power stayed off.

I gotta be honest with you, I really want a Guinness right now. It sounds so good. But alas, I must hold out til Friday. I gotta get this last week of school behind me. On that note, farewell friends.

1 good games:
