I've been thinking about the simple words of Dave Matthews, "To change the world...you might die trying." Maybe it's because it's 6:30 in the morning, and I'm a little sleep deprived, but I have been thinking how true this statement is. Immediately 3 people popped into my head: Martin Luther King Jr., William Wallace and Jesus Christ. MLK stood for what he believed in the middle of a racist country and changed, and is still changing the minds and hearts of people all across the nation. Wallace gave his life for his country so that they may experience many of the freedoms that they enjoy today. Christ laid down his life so that everybody may have eternal life, grace and a purpose. These 3 were able to die to their self and sacrifice so much in order to free others from bondage, discrimination and other forms of wickedness.
When will we as Christians distinguish ourselves from the world, and earnestly seek to impact our neighbors? I suppose that the only way that we can do this is to die to ourselves and not be of our body anymore. "To live is Christ, and to die is gain." Phil 1:21.
Also, I've been jamming to some new tunes this week. Check out Crowder's new album entitled "Remedy," as well as Counting Crows new one called "Saturday Nights & Sunday Morning."
