My dad woke me up at the crack of dawn...oh wait, it was an hour before the crack of dawn, around 6:45ish. I wasn't ready to wake up, but I'm glad I did. I turned on a pot of coffee and got to chat with him for a bit, because he came up to Denton to get a tax document. It was nice to spend some morning time with him, which is a rare occasion now.
I also got into the word some. I've been reading through Genesis. I'm up to chapter 43 now. Joseph is an interesting character in the bible, definitely a man of God. It really is awesome to be able to revisit these times in history of great men. I'm at the part in which he is 2nd to the Pharaoh. His brothers come to get some food for their house and run into Joseph, not even knowing that it is in fact their brother that they sold into slavery some 15 years back. One of the stories that hit me is when they bring their youngest brother back to Egypt upon Joseph's request. Joseph sees him and has to leave the room to go and weep. I enjoy seeing strong men in the bible that can cry and show emotions. You can tell that he has such love for his younger sibling.
After reading, I went and met with Lan for about an hour or so. we had some good conversation. It's beginning to be a comfortable meeting time with him, doing life with him. Phillip Blecker was there, so we chatted it up with him too. I really do love the early mornings, especially when they are spent with brothers in Christ. Thank you Jesus for the stirring of my affections this morning.
