I've been thinking about the phrase, "being above reproach." However, if I honestly desire to live above reproach and desire to encourage my brothers to be above reproach, then I think it is only necessary to understand what the word means:

1
: an expression of rebuke or disapproval
2
: the act or action of reproaching or disapproving reproach>
3 a: a cause or occasion of blame, discredit, or disgrace b: discredit , disgrace
4:
obsolete : one subjected to censure or scorn

I'll speak mainly on the 3rd one. I feel like as sinners saved by grace, we forget occasionally that we need to not only appear blameless sometimes. However, to live above reproach is to have no "cause or occasion of blame," that could discredit you or disgrace you in anyway. As I attempt to live this way, I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to press into my soul. I also pray that I will live in a way that no one can question what I believe in. In the words of Robert Randolph:

When I Wake up in the morning, I want to know that my family, friends and fans know what I believe in and what I'm all about. That's what should be important.
